Mission Statement

The Sules Foundation honors the legacy of Stephen Michael Sules by nourishing communities through food and empowering the next generation of culinary talent. Through scholarships, mentorships, and community-driven initiatives, we provide opportunities for aspiring chefs while ensuring that those in need have access to nutritious meals. Our mission is to create a lasting impact by blending generosity, education, and the shared love of food.

Our Impact

From the very beginning, we’ve built community initiatives that not only carry out our mission but also keep Stephen’s spirit alive in meaningful ways.

This program is close to our hearts. In partnership with El Centro Hispano, a vital part of the church where Stephen and his family are parishioners, we operate a twice-monthly food distribution right on the grounds of Post Road Elementary School in White Plains — the very school and neighborhood where Stephen grew up. Serving families facing food insecurity, we provide fresh, healthy meals to our community, honoring Stephen’s legacy by giving back to the place that shaped him.

Born during the COVID-19 pandemic, Stephen Delivers was created to support those who tirelessly serve us all — our first responders. Feeding the brave men and women on the front lines has always been a priority because Stephen believed in caring for those who care for others. By partnering with local restaurants and delis, this program brings nourishing meals and hope directly to first responders and vulnerable community members, continuing Stephen’s spirit of kindness and service.

Each year, the foundation’s board carefully reviews scholarship applications to award grants to high school students pursuing careers in the culinary arts. We seek out those who embody Stephen’s passion, spirit, and enthusiasm — young people who are reaching for new heights and carrying forward the legacy he never got to fully realize. The scholarships provide not just financial support, but ongoing encouragement to help these students thrive in their education and craft.
