Stephen Michael Sules

Stephen Michael Sules was born on June 27, 1991, the beloved son of Stephen and Lorraine Sules and brother to John, Chelsea, and Zoe. From a young age, Stephen found joy, peace, and purpose in the kitchen. Cooking was more than a hobby — it was his art form, his outlet, and his light forward in the world.

Growing up in a traditional Italian-American home, food was naturally a big part of the Sules family and Stephen’s life. As a young child, Stephen loved eating, but over time, his passion deepened into a true appreciation for the love and care that goes into creating food, especially for others to enjoy.

Stephen’s love of food went beyond creativity — it was rooted in compassion. He was deeply involved in his community, regularly volunteering at his local church’s soup kitchen and food drives, preparing sandwiches and meals for those in need. Giving back through food was his way of connecting with others and spreading kindness, one meal at a time.

Stephen also loved working with his hands — whether constructing or deconstructing gadgets, he was the unofficial IT technician in the Sules family home. Naturally, he began cooking in his mother Lorraine’s kitchen and took summer jobs in local restaurant kitchens, where he honed his kinesthetic talents with food.

Eager to expand his knowledge, Stephen enrolled in the French Culinary Institute. His family had never seen him more excited — he finally found his calling and a place where he truly belonged.

Stephen’s warmth, humor, and generosity touched everyone who knew him. His legacy lives on in every aspiring chef we support and in every act of love shared around the table.
